Hopeful Without Being Corny: Hazlett

Ry here. Xtina and I were trading songs again and it got me thinking about the show last night. If you weren’t looking for it, you might miss the magic hidden inside a set like Hazlett’s. His sound occupies a rare space: melancholy without being heavy, hopeful without being corny. It’s indie folk that feels like a slow exhale when you didn’t realize you’d been holding your breath all week.

Standing there at the left stage bars of the sunken GA section, flanked by the wall of bars, the venue felt full without ever being overly loud. It was a reminder that an instrument can communicate an internal truth that words sometimes can't. Hazlett’s music is introspective, it’s genuine, and it’s a vibe that actually deserves your attention.

Okay, gotta go, Xtina’s calling!

Ry’s starting line song:

Vibing the track but missed the show? Follow along so you can meet us at the next one, stage left bars, and help us add another song to Xtina’s Infinite Playlist.
